The story

Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport is a once in a generation project to build Sydney’s new airport providing a needed boost to Sydney’s aviation capacity and acting as a catalyst for high quality jobs and growth across the Western Sydney region.

As Western Sydney Airport develops the project, contractors and the business workforce are required to transform the greenfield site into an operational international and domestic passenger and air cargo precinct for its opening in late 2026.

Partnering with Global Training Solutions, sl digital works with Western Sydney Airport to produce just-in-time micro-learning modules across the business. This means working with the WSA team to define the content, so we are able to build interactive and engaging learning tools. We package several modules together to tell a story around a particular topic.

The challenge is in turning policies and procedures into micro-learning modules that new and existing WSA employees can understand and implement. The reward is seeing the final product published for workers to undertake on any device, at any time.  

Western Sydney International Airport is on track to open for domestic and international passenger and air cargo services in late 2026.
