FAQs

When to use LSP?

The LSP method is effective when there is more than one possible right answer and when there are no obvious answers, when the organisation wants to harness the team’s collective wisdom to find the best possible solution and get the strongest possible commitment or when the subject is complex and you want to deal with tough and complex issues in a constructive environment. This really is just the tip of the iceberg. LSP has vast application. We can show you how.

Who should attend?

Teachers, trainers and facilitators, in-house training and development professionals, university professors, educators, consultants, HR professionals, coaches, counsellors, change managers, project managers, strategists, leaders in your organisation.

We have had many industry professionals from a variety of backgrounds attend our workshops. Everyone is welcome to participate!

Who invented LSP?

In the mid-1990’s the LEGO® Systems Group, headquarters in Billund, Denmark, teamed up with two organisational psychologists who developed, created and tested the process over many years.

Since 2010 it is open source. This means everyone can use this powerful methodology and apply it to many different types of workshops.

What is the duration of an LSP workshop?

There is no standard duration for a workshop. To gain the full benefit of the LSP Method 4-hours + is a good duration but it does depend on the workshop context and outcomes you want.

A meetup or lunch and learn may be completed within 30-minutes. An introductory session could be completed in 1.5 – 2.5 hours. Digging deeper into topics will require more time with most of these workshops running around 4.5-hours. We also run workshops over longer timeframes such as 1-day or more.

How many people can participate in an LSP workshop?

LSP workshops are designed for collaboration, communication and decision making so it works best with a minimum of 4 participants and a maximum of 8 or 9.

We are certified LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Method Facilitators so for larger workshops or conferences we can co-facilitate. We have worked with individuals and teams of all sizes so tell us your requirements and we can make it work.

How much does an LSP workshop cost?

Costs will vary based on the number of participants, workshop duration, how much preparation time we need, the workshop outcomes and any additional reporting or coaching we are required to do.

Each workshop is customised to your needs so the cost will be determined based on this. We are always happy to work with you to design and deliver a workshop within your budget.

During an LSP workshop there is 100% participation. Why is this important?

LSP is an interactive approach where everybody builds, shares their stories, contributes to the conversation. During a workshop we want to unlock creativity, imagination, innovation and share ideas so 100% participation is vital to this process being effective.

Is LSP about having fun and playing with LEGO® bricks or learning?

It’s actually both. But we call it having “serious fun” or “hard fun” and it’s actually one of our ground rules. Yes, we are playing and building with LEGO® bricks but we are also learning through deep level conversation, new thinking, problem solving, decision making and the collective wisdom of the group. Possibilities are built and explored. Strategies are played out and tested. Commitments are discussed and aligned. Solutions are visualised and agreed.
